Cougars Come Up Short At Home!
The Cougars looked to get back to their winning ways on Saturday against the Owls of Union County College.
The Cougars battled the Owls on Saturday in a NJCAA Region XIX matchup. For most of the game it was back and forth between the two teams.Going into the half the Owls held a slim 2 point lead thanks to a pull up jumper on the baseline by one of the Owl's Guards. The Cougars came out in the second half and kept the game close until it appeared the Cougars ran out of gas with about 5 minutes left in the game. The Owls pulled away in the final minutes to take the 83-72 win against the Cougars. The Cougars were led by Freshman Keshon Smith, Nasim Hinson and Styvon Frisbee. Also having major contributions were Sophomores Thomas Ibidapo and Ronnell Garrett.
The Cougars will looked to bounce back on Monday, January 28th as they travel north to face the Vikings of Ocean County College in a game that was rescheduled due to weather last weekend. The Cougars will play 4 games in 6 days this upcoming week and looked to get themselves back above .500 and make a push for qualification for the Region XIX Tournament.
