Cougars Win Rivalry Game!

The Cougars got off to a quick start as Joao Pedro Chiarioni found the back of the net off a pass from Lucas Teixeira a little over 3 minutes into the match. Then about 4 minutes later Lucas Teixeira found the back of the net from a pass by Lucas Pecegueiro to put the Cougars up 2-0. The Road Runners would answer back at the 13 minute mark on a goal by Justin Phy to cut the Cougars lead in half. The Cougars would play to a 2-1 lead at the half. 

Just how the first half started for the Cougars the second half would play out the same in the beginning as about 3 minutes into the second half Carlos Medeiros would find the back of the Road Runners net on a rocket of a shot to extend the Cougars lead to 3-1. The game would go back and forth with both teams having scoring chances throughout until the 79th minute when Lucas Guerra found the back of the net off a pass from Hugo Martinez to put the Cougars up 4-1. The final goal would come a few minutes later when Lautaro Berisso connected with a header to give the Cougars a 5-1 lead. The Road Runners were able to put 1 more goal on the board in the 88th minute when Farris El-Taher put one by Cougars goalkeeper Harry Nash to make it a 5-2 game. 

The Cougars who are ranked once again at #4 Nationally in the latest NJCAA DIII Rankings improve to 2-1-1 on the season. Next up for the Cougars is a trip up to Tom's River, NJ to face the Vikings of Ocean County College this Thursday at 4pm.
