Lady Cougars Advance to Region XIX Championship

It was the same scenario has the 2017 Region XIX Softball Tournament, the Lady Cougars drew a first round match up with the Lady Vikings of Ocean CC in this years Region XIX Tournament and the result ended the same as 2017. This year it took 3 games to advance to the Championship event. The Lady Cougars this year defeated Ocean CC in game 1 and lost in game 2 to setup a winner take all matchup on Wednesday, May 2nd at Ocean CC. The Lady Cougars did not dissappoint as they won the deciding game 3 by a final score of 4-1 thanks to stellar pitching from Sophomore Angel Benjamin. Angel throw a complete game 2 hitter with 4 strikeouts. Also contributing at the plate where Fr. Zoe Sneddon, Fr. Brianna Kasprzak and So. Danielle Cutrera.

Next up for the Lady Cougars will be a match up the same has last year against the Jersey Blues of Brookdale Community College for the 2018 NJCAA Region XIX District E Championship. The games will be played at Cumberland County College and are slated for this Saturday, May 5th and 6th (If Needed). Game times for Saturday are 10am and 12pm weather permitting. The Lady Cougars only need 2 more wins to advance to this years NJCAA National Championship Tournament in Rochester, MI.
