Crago’s Effort Not Enough For RCSJ-Gloucester

CAMDEN, NJ. - Freshman guard Chloe Crago (Bele Fourche, SD) put on a show in GSAC Conference play last night in Papiano Gymnasium, but Crago's 22 points were not enough to pull out a win. Kayla Franklin (Somerdale, NJ) led the team with 16 rebounds and 16 points. Camden County Community College lost to RCSJ-Glouctester, 60-76.
Camden had a quick start, sophomore Kayla Franklin started the game off strong with a 2-pointer handed by Isabella Boyle. Freshman Julia Maldonado (Ukia, CA) followed up with a deep 3, one of her many in this game. RCSJ- Gloucester responded with back-to-back shots including a few by Maxine Ampofo, who led their team in scoring, with 22 total points.
RSCJ-Gloucester and Camden kicked the game up a notch in quarter 4, both teams contributing 24 points to the scoreboard in the final quarter. By the last 9 minutes Camden was down 36-54. Chloe Crago and Julia Maldonado teamed up to keep the deficit at 16 points. Crago scored 8 times in the last few minutes. Maldonado put up three 3-pointers, including one with only 9 seconds left on the clock, to end the game 60-76.
Camden dropped to 3-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference. Cougars will ready to play on the road this weekend at Passaic County Community College at 12:00pm.
