The Cougars expected to have a tremendous showing at the National Championships this year. Unfortunately, the competition this year seemed to be even better than expected. The team had qualified 9 wrestlers for the National Championships when they finished as Eastern District II Runner Ups and Region XIX Champs. At Nationals we only had 8 wrestlers compete because of a medical withdrawl by one of our wrestlers. The 8 remaining wrestlers competed in the first day of competition with three wrestlers making it to the round before the podium. The three wrestlers were Juan Ramos, Jason Carter and Matt O'Donnell, but they all lost close matches and missed advancing to a top 8 possible finish. The Cougars as a team finished 30th overall.Keep in mind that Camden County College Athletics is a Non-Scholarship school and at the National Championship everyone wrestles so our athletes had to wrestle against scholarship level programs.
