Women's Tennis Defeats RCGC

Five out of nine courts battled for come-backs in a 7-2 victory over RCGC yesterday.  Beginning with third doubles, Madalynn Zehner and Jasmine Cruz-Barrera came back from down 3-6 and won five straight games for an 8-6 victory.  Jessica Grafton and Alexandra Russick also won, 8-5 at first doubles.

Singles got off to a very slow start with all but second singles losing first sets.  Russick won at 2S in straight sets 6-4,6-1.  As the sun was going down, Jessica Grafton 1S, Madalynn Zehner 3S, Dania Orellana 4S, and Litzy Catalan-Diaz 5S all rallied and won their matches in third sets.

6S Maeve McFadden RCGC def. Jasmine Cruz-Barrera CCC 6-2, 6-2

 

The Lady Cougars will have a few days off before they travel up north to face the Jersey Blues of Brookdale Community College on Sunday at 3pm and then they will be right back at it Monday as they travel to Rowan College @ Gloucester County for the regular season finale.

The Lady Cougars are now 5-0 in Region XIX play and 6-2 overall with their only 2 loses coming at the hands of Oxford College and Suffolk CC. To date under Head Coach Senopoulos in 3 years the Lady Cougars have only lost 1 Region XIX match and have won 2 Region XIX Titles and 2 GSAC Championships.
