Lady Cougars Take on White Clay

The Cougars were back in action on Saturday October 6th, in Newark, Delaware. They competed in the Blue and Gold Cross Country Invitational hosted by the University of Delaware, which was run on the UD home course located in White Clay Creek State Park. The competing teams were colleges, universities, and track clubs from Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. The Cougars were one of four Region XIX junior colleges in the field that took advantage of getting a race over the challenging 6k and 8k course that will be the host site for the NJCAA Region XIX Championships, that will be held on Sunday October 28th.


The women's race had the Cougars Sara Loew kick to a 10th place award winning finish with a career best time of 25:12 for the 6k distance. This was her 4th top ten finish of the season. Autumn Baldini (38th) lead the pack of Emily Santana (39th), and Betzabel A. Delos Santos Trinidad (40th) finishing with a four second gap. Nicole Mattern 30:49* (48th), rounded out the the team scoring, giving the Cougars an 8th place finish. The Lady Cougars are currently ranked 4th for the 2nd consecutive week in the Division III NJCAA National Rankings.

The next race for the Cougars will be October 13th in the Blue Apple Invitational hosted by Penn State Brandywine, in Media Pa. The women's 6k is scheduled to go off at 11:00am, followed by the men's 8k at 11:45am. Please come out and support the Cougars!
