2023, A Commendable Year For The Cougars
This year was a commendable year for the Camden County College Cougars.
Starting off in January, our Women's Basketball team had a great 2022-23 season competing in the Region 19 Championship the team finished ranked in the 13# nationally.
Tatiana Johnson, had her women's basketball Jersey hung in Ring of Honor at the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Ring of Honor recognizes excellence in all levels of women's basketball, from high school players to professionals. Tatiana was also named NJCAA 3rd Team All-American, Garden State Athletic Conference, and NJCAA Region 19- Women's Basketball Player of the Year.
The Cougars' men's and women's track and field team had an impressive showing at nationals placing 8 student athletes as All- Americans with 6 of them obtaining All-American in multiple events:

Men's Soccer started off the 2023-24 school year winning their 13th straight GSAC and Region 19 Championship. The team finished the season 12-2-2 ranked 7th in the Country . Six players on the Men's Soccer team have received All Conference and All Region 19 honors. Goalkeeper Diogo Cardoso and Forward Flavio Boccacci received 1st Team All Region 19/ 1st Team All GSAC honors. Midfielder Farid Herrera was selected 2nd Team All Region 19/ 2nd Team All GSAC. Defender Kian Timms was selected 3rd Team All Region 19/ 2nd Team All GSAC. Midfielder Tijn Wurth was selected 3rd Team All Region 19/ 3rd Team All GSAC. Defender Simbarahe Mazarura was selected 3rd Team All GSAC.
Men's Basketball is off to a hot start as they have won 7 out of their last 9 games. Including a 12 point win over the 7th ranked Northampton College. Coach Lou Abbattista also hit a mile stone winning his 200th game on November 28th against Atlantic Cape. The men's basketball team look to crack the top 10 national ranking in the new year.
Women's basketball is also off to a great start currently ranked 4th in the region. The Cougars are lead by Freshman Chole Crago who is leading the Country in scoring with 22.9 ppg which includes a Camden County College record 42 points vs Bergen CC.
Wrestling finished the 2022-23 season on a high note. Shane Whintey had a dominate Sophmore season ending with an All- American Nod. The wrestling team won the 2023 GSAC, Region 19 and District championship. Head Coach John Chillem was name NJCAA national COach of the year. So far this season the team looks to continue their dominance in GSAC and Region 19 after a impressive win over Middlesex CC and great showing at the Nassau and Alvernia Invitational. We are excited for continued succes of our athletic programs in the new year!
