On Saturday, the Cougars traveled north to face Ocean County College in a double header Region XIX matchup. The Cougars split with the Vikings losing game 1 by a score of 3-4 and then winning game 2 by a score of 6-5. After 2 close Region games on Saturday the Cougs took to the road once again this time heading south to face off with Cecil Community College in a non-conference double header. in the first game against Cecil it looked like it would be a another close game until the offense errupted in the top of the 7th inning scoring 8 runs and winning Game 1 by a score of 18-7. In Game 2 the offense continued its hot streak scoring 12 runs in the top of the 1st inning on their way to scoring 32 runs in 5 innings. On the day the Cougs played only 12 innings and put up a mind blowing 50 runs!
On Sunday Fr. Josh Ritchie went 8-9 at the plate scoring 6 runs with 7 rbi's, while hitting 2 HR's, 2 doubles and walking 1 time. Also getting into the long ball action on Sunday was the MINF duo of Ryan Swift and Dante Serchia who each had one homer.
The Cougars will have a day off before they host Atlantic Cape Community College at home on Tuesday in another Region XIX matchup. The Cougars are currently 16-5 overall and as of last weeks National Rankings they were receiving votes.
