Camden County Hires John Scanzano as new Baseball Coach

New Athletic Director Will Logan annouces Camden County College has hired John Scanzano as the new Men's Baseball coach. 

John J. Scanzano, has over 20 years of coaching and administration experience working with athletes at every level from HS to Professional sports. 

 

John along with his brother Mike have managed Scanzano Sports Center for over 7 years. A successful athletic company in Cherry Hill, NJ. It is here where they developed baseball training programs and individual development plans for his players. Overseeing over 25 tournament teams consisting of 300+ players.

 

In 2012 Coach Scanzano started his 9 year coaching tenure at the Kings Christian School. He rebuilt the baseball program. Leading a previously 1-win team to a 29-win season, amassing over 100 wins, 3 consecutive PJAA Conference Championships (2017, 2018, 2019) along with 2017 NACA Runner-up and 2018 NACA National D1 Champions. In addition, he was named 2018 NACA Coach of the Year. Over the past 5 years Coach Scanzano has personally helped over 90 players commit to play college baseball at the Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Junior College levels.

 

In 2021 Coach Scanzano and MLB Phillies World Series Champion Coach Milt Thompson started a post-graduate program to help HS baseball players affected by the epidemic. 

 

In 2019 John also worked with the CFL Montreal Alouettes as a professional scout.

 

John became the athletic director of the newly formed Living Faith Christian Academy in 2002. Here he developed athletic programs from the ground up helping coach soccer, basketball, track & field, baseball and also developed a host family exchange program for international students. The LFCA boys' basketball team won two national championships in a three year span.

 

In 2008 John helped partner LFCA with Post Graduate program Apex Academies. Some noted Alumni are NBA stars Marcus and Markeif Morris. 

 

Through his passion and love of athletics, he has achieved many milestones. John was a 3 - sport athlete at Cherokee High School and Milford Academy Prep playing football, basketball, Track & Field and was captain of the Milford baseball team. After Milford went on to play baseball at Burlington County College in Pemberton, NJ.
