Cougars Sweep Doubleheader Against Morris County College, Set Sights on Bergen

This past Sunday the Cougars (9-7) continued their strong season with a doubleheader sweep against Division II opponent Morris County College. The Cougars took game one (7-5) behind a stellar performance from winning pitcher Vinny Sangataldo, who improved his record to 3-0 on the season. In game two, Mike Faulls delivered another strong outing, securing the (4-1) win and moving his record to 4-1. Right-handed freshman pitcher Jimmy Staepel played a key role in both victories, closing out each game to earn a pair of saves. On the offensive side, Ethan Arter led the way, being on base 5 times, collecting three hits, 4 stolen bases and driving in two runs to power the Cougars’ lineup. With momentum on their side, the Cougars now shift their focus to a crucial three-game series against Conference opponent Bergen County College this weekend.
