Cougars Baseball Takes Down Bergen County with Three-Game Sweep
The Cougars baseball team put on an offensive and defensive clinic over the weekend, sweeping Bergen County in dominant fashion, winning all three games while outscoring their opponent 48-6. Their aggressive baserunning was on full display as they swiped an astonishing 41 bases, highlighted by a standout performance from Ethan Arter swiping home. Arter led the charge on the basepaths, setting the tone for a Cougars squad that overwhelmed Bergen County with speed, power, and precision. The pitching staff also delivered, allowing just six runs across the three-game stretch, ensuring Bergen never had a chance to recover. Joseph Fanelli picked up his first collegiate win on Friday. Vinny Sangataldo and Mike Faulls picked up the wins during Saturday’s DH and moved their records to 4-0 and 5-1 respectively. This puts them in the top 5 in Region 19 overall for individual wins. With momentum on their side, the Cougars now turn their attention to a busy week ahead. They’ll take on Union County College in back-to-back matchups on Tuesday and Wednesday before facing Delaware County College in a three-game series this weekend. If this past weekend was any indication, the Cougars are locked in and ready to keep their winning ways going.
