The Cougars traveled to Ocean County College on Monday night for a makeup game and to try and snap a 7 game losing streak. The Cougars led by as much as 14 point in the first half, but the vikings would roar back to close the half down by 3 points. The game was back and forth the entire 2nd half and it looked like the Vikings may pull away. The Cougars bounced right back and setup an instant classic for Region XIX Basketball. The Cougars were down by 1 when they fouled an Ocean player with 4.4 seconds left. At the line the player missed the first free throw and made the second. The Cougars were now down by 2 with 4.4 seconds to play and Associate Head coach Delorian Heard called a timeout to draw up the final play of the game. Under their own basketball they inbounded the ball to #5 Keshon Smith who made a move and passed the ball to #22 Corey Avery right inside half court. Avery launched the three as time expired and banked it home for the Game Winning Three! This is the second time this season Avery has hit a game winning shot for the Cougars.

The Cougars will be back in action at home on Thursday night against Passaic at 6pm.
