On Thursday night at the Papiano Gym in Blackwood, NJ the Cougars of Camden CC took on the Spartans of Northampton CC in an NJCAA Region XIX matchup of National titans! The Cougars of Camden CC received votes in the latest NJCAA DIII Men's rankings and the Spartans are currently ranked #7. The Cougars trailed Northampton at the half 39-43 but would go on to score 50 points in the 2nd half and play the typical game that Head coach Lou Abbattista plays. Down the stretch the Spartans made it a close game but in the clutch moments in the final minutes Fr. Nigel Burch hit 2 huge three's to space the lead on his way to 16 points and the Cougars would shoot 22-25 from the free throw line on their way to a 89-83 win over the Spartans.

So. Guard Keshon Smith would come up 1 assist shy of a triple-double. Smith finished the game with 21 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists! Smith is currently ranked 15th in the Nation with a 22.0 ppg average. So. Guard Justin Ryder would finish with 10 points and 8 assists and Fr. Forward Jawaan Roane would net 16 points.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday as they hit the road in another Region XIX Contest against the Bulldogs of Bergen CC. The Cougars are currently 13-3 on the year!
