Smith Hits Career 1000 In Lose To CCP!

On Thursday, February 13th The Cougars of Camden CC who are receiving votes for National Rankings hosted the #14th ranked Community College of Philadelphia in a NJCAA Region XIX showdown. Going into the night Sophomore Guard Keshon Smith had tallied a career points total of 997 points. Needing just 3 points to eclipse the career 1,000 point mark. It didn't take Smith long to hit career 1,000 has he buried a 30 footer on the first posession just 10 seconds into the game. Smith would go on to score 30 points in the game raising his career total to 1,027 by the end of the night. 

At the end of the first half the Cougars held a 40-36 lead over CCP. But CCP would come back in the 2nd half to down the Cougars 81-77. The Cougars have 2 regular season games left before the NJCAA Region XIX Tournament. They will travel to Sussex CCC on Saturday for a 2pm tipoff and will host the Jersey Blues of Brookdale on Tuesday night. If the Cougars can win out they will win the regular season GSAC Championship and will be a top 5 seed in the 2020 Region XIX Tournament. Tuesday's game against Brookdale will also be Sophomore night.
