Mens Soccer First In NJCAA Region 19
Blackwood, NJ - The Camden County College Men's Soccer team has gone undefeated thus far this season. Cougars are currently seated sixth overall in the NJCAA DIII rankings and first in the NJCAA Region nineteen rankings.
Mens Soccer is on a five-game-win-streak and has yet to allow any opponent to score on them. With a total of 56 goals scored offensively so far and .982 shot percentage; the Cougars are leading the conference largely in part to their three strong goalies and key strikers. With only four returners this year, the Camden County College soccer team is majorly freshman. Leading Goal Keeper is Lucas Hibos with thirteen total saves. Leading the team in goals is sophomore forward Flavio Boccacci with six total goals thus far. Trailing right behind him is Mauro Alonso Bustamente with five goals scored, including a hat trick versus Morris County College. Tied with five goals are Dimitri Lekishvilli and Genta Iritono. Elias Hirt is ahead of the team in assists with six so far. Head Coach Cameron Christine stated, "We've had a great start to the season, we haven't conceded yet defensively but attacking wise we are making sure we are more clinical in front of the net and more dynamic in our movement. Our leaders are doing well, Lucas Hibos , Patrick Lopes Santos, Bono Wijnhoven, and our center backs Paul Kohler and Ole Anders Themsfeldt are stepping up quite a bit. It's looking positive everyday".
Camden County College Cougars hit the pitch later today for a 3:30 pm matchup against the Colts of Middlesex College (2-0-1).
