Camden County Men's Soccer suffers first loss of the season against Bergen CC
FT Score:
Camden County: 2
Bergen CC: 3
Camden County College's Men's Soccer team saw its winning streak come to an end on the road against Bergen Community College, falling 3-2 in a hard-fought contest. The loss marked the team's first defeat of the season after winning six of their first eight contests.
The Cougars were down 0-2 at the break, which was their first time going into halftime with a deficit. With Bergen scoring again in the 79th minute, Camden faced their largest deficit of the season down 0-3. However, the Cougars are quite the resilient side and we're not going to relent despite the adversity. With goals from David Mestre ('82) and Keji Nishikawa ('88), Camden was right back in the match and looking to equalize. However, with little game time remaining the Cougars comeback effort fell just short as they failed to score another goal before time elapsed.
Despite the setback, Camden County College's fortitude and unyielding approach was evident throughout the match. Head Coach Dan Keefe expressed confidence that his team would be able to bounce back quickly and prepare for their next match against another regional foe this upcoming Thursday.
The Camden County Cougars (6-1-1) will look to bounce back in their next matchup, Thursday 9/25 as they host Raritan Valley CC (6-1-1) in a Region XIX matchup. Kickoff is scheduled at 4:00PM
