Collins Named NJCAA Player Of The Week

Blackwood, NJ - Camden County College Softball player, Halina Collins (Marlton, NJ) was named NJCAA DIII Softball Player Of The Week for her consistency at the plate. "The freshman hit for a .767 average with seven doubles and 19 RBI [in week 7] for the Cougars, leading them to four wins", wrote the NJCAA.

The Freshman starting catcher is third in the nation with a batting average of .719. Collins is also fourth in nation with an on base percentage of .775. Collins has shown up for the Cougars since the start of the season and has a total of 23 RBI and 20 runs in thirty-two at bats so far this season. In a recent double-header versus Bergen County Community College, Collins hit a grand slam over the Cougars fence in the fourth inning of game one. She finished the day with 9 RBI and six doubles. Collins went three for three in game one and six for six in game two.
