Lady Cougars Advance in Region XIX Tournament!

On Saturday, February 19th the Lady Cougars hosted the 1st round of the 2022 NJCAA Region XIX Tournament. The Lady Cougars received the #4 seed and hosted the #5 seed Panthers of Passaic County Community College. During the regular season these two teams met with the Cougars winning both contest.

On the afternoon, the Lady Cougars led from the beginning to the end, never giving up the lead in route to a 71-52 victory. Freshman Forward Tatiana Johnson led all scorers with 22 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Freshman Center Idayat Adisa dominated on the glass posting an impressive double double of 18 points and 18 rebounds. Sophomore guard Alexys Kasprzak added 14 points while Freshman Leilani Franklin added 11 points.

Next up for the Lady Cougars will be a short ride over to RCSJ-Gloucester on Wednesday night at 6pm as they face the #1 Roadrunners in the Semifinals of the Region XIX Tournament.
