Osprey Open Recap - Women's Track and Field

The men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Stockton University to compete in the Osprey Open on Friday April 12th and Saturday April 13th.
Outstanding performances on Friday were turned in by freshmen Alex Georgiou, who finished in 2nd place with a throw of 53.44m (175'4'') and Tyrik Bazemore with a personal best, 39.11m (128'3'') in the men's javelin.The Lady Cougar 4 x 800 relay team of Emily Santana, Alyssa Fario, Betzabel A. Delos Santos Trinidad, and Emily Kotarski ran 11:23.93** Emily Santana ran a personal best 2:37.30 leadoff leg split to lead the team to a 7th place finish overall.

On Saturday freshmen Alyssa Fario ran a personal best track time of 21:39.07** finishing in 14th place in the 5000m. The men's discus had Keshon Wise-Jones throw a personal best 29.70 (97'5"). Aidan Murphey ran 11.95 and Salem Krisita-Mandina 12.01 in the 100m. Marquise Young ran a seasons best time of 15.96 in the 110m high hurdles to finish in 3rd place. Aidan Murphey also ran a seasons best time in the 200m of 23.86. The men's 4 x 100 relay team of Aidan Murphey, Marquise Young, Kyron Paige, and Salem Krisita-Mandina ran 45.62 to place 5th. Emily Santana 5:51.71 and Betzabel A. Delos Santos Trinidad 6:00.51 ran personal best times in the 1500m. Betzabel also doubled back with a personal best 2:56.36 in the 800m. Chris Townsend ran 4:33.23 in the 1500m and doubled back with a 2:13.30 in the 800m. The 400m hurdles had Marquise Young finish in 4th place with a 57.13**, and Nick Earnshaw run his seasons best time 1:04.20.

Next meet for the Cougars is the Widener Invitational, Friday April 12th and Saturday April 13th.
